Happiness

Original water colour, acrylic painting 26" X 38". Conservation Framed to 32.5" X 44.5"

Working with acrylic and watercolour, I built this painting through layers of colour, texture, movement, and spontaneous marks. Deep blues and greens create a feeling of immersion, while flashes of brighter colour emerge throughout the composition like moments of joy, energy, and discovery.

I wanted the painting to feel alive—organic and unpredictable, much like happiness itself. There are areas of intensity and areas of quiet, moments that seem hidden and others that reveal themselves gradually.

For me, happiness is not necessarily a constant state. You can find it in small discoveries, in nature, in colour, in memories, and in those unexpected moments when something simply feels right.
